Cookie Policy
What this page covers
This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage used by Topoform — the product site and the design app. It complements the Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and why. The service is operated by [operator: to be specified].
Strictly necessary
poliv_session— set by the app when you sign in, so you stay signed in. A first-party, signed, HTTP-only cookie; it expires after 30 days or when you sign out. Blocking it signs you out of the app.- Browser local storage in the app — an unsaved draft of the project you are editing, your choice of feet or metres, and an invite link you opened before signing in. This stays in your browser and is never sent to analytics.
Analytics
We use two third-party analytics tools to understand how people find and use Topoform, as described in the Privacy Policy. They set their own cookies:
- Yandex Metrica, on both the English and Russian versions:
_ym_uid(identifies the browser, up to 1 year),_ym_d(date of the first visit, up to 1 year) and_ym_isad(checks for ad blockers, up to 2 days). Session replay (Webvisor) is switched off. Yandex may also set cookies on its own domains. - Google Analytics 4, on the English version only:
_ga(distinguishes visitors, up to 2 years) and_ga_<container-id>(keeps the session state, up to 2 years).
Neither tool receives your email address or the contents of your projects — they only see anonymous usage and navigation.
Both tools set their cookies on the main domain, so a visit that starts on the site and continues in the app counts as one visit.
How you found us (first touch)
tf_ft— set by the site on your first visit, on the main domain so the app can read it. It records where that visit came from: theutm_*campaign labels and thegclid/yclidad-click ids from the link you followed (if any), the address of the external page that referred you (without its query string), the page you landed on and the date. It is never overwritten and expires after at most 90 days (some browsers, such as Safari, delete cookies set this way sooner — after 7 days or less).- If you sign in to the app while it exists, the app sends it with your sign-in and we store it with your account once, so we can tell which campaigns bring people who actually use Topoform (not just clicks). It contains no email address and nothing you typed.
The cookie banner and your choice
On your first visit the site shows a cookie banner. On the English and Russian versions analytics starts right away and the banner lets you decline it:
tf_consent— remembers your choice (acceptedordeclined) for up to 180 days (about 6 months; some browsers, such as Safari, keep it for 7 days or less, after which the banner appears again), on the main domain so the app respects it too. It is strictly necessary for keeping your choice.- **Decline** stops Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics on the site and in the app — no further data is sent to them — deletes their cookies where the browser allows it, and deletes
tf_ft; nothing about how you found us is sent with a later sign-in.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. To change your choice, delete the tf_consent cookie and the banner appears again. Blocking the analytics cookies does not affect how the site or the app works; blocking the session cookie means you cannot stay signed in.
